New York jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein returns to LantarenVenster with a quartet steeped in melody and swing. Active on the NYC scene since 1989, Bernstein has recorded and toured with players across generations, including Sonny Rollins, Bobby Hutcherson, Brad Mehldau and Diana Krall. As a leader he has released more than a dozen albums, among them What Comes Next and Perpetual Pendulum (Smoke Sessions), the latter with long-time partners Larry Goldings and Bill Stewart. This Rotterdam date is a seated concert and spotlights Bernstein’s lyrical touch and crisp understatement.
