Ão

The Portuguese-Dutch collective Ão returns to Rotterdam with a performance at Rotown on Friday 20 March 2026. Known for their mesmerising blend of Portuguese saudade and South American rhythms, the quintet creates music that feels both ethereal and deeply rooted in emotion.

Singing in Portuguese and English, Ão weave together alternative pop, Latin influences and electronic textures into a sound that is fragile yet powerful. Their atmospheric music invites listeners into a state of reflection, carrying them through light and shadow. The result is an intimate, almost transcendent live experience.

The band’s upcoming album, expected in early 2026, follows their acclaimed debut Ao Mar. Fans have already been given a taste with the single Talvez (“maybe” in Portuguese), a track that combines summer brightness with a darker undertone, signalling a fresh yet recognisable direction for the group.
