Re-TROS—short for Rebuilding the Rights of Statues—is China’s boldest export in post-punk and experimental rock. Emerging from Beijing’s underground scene, the band has grown into a global phenomenon with their explosive mix of krautrock, electro, and avant-garde artpunk. Imagine a sonic storm of machine-gun drums, hypnotic industrial guitars and spacey synths—raw, tight, and relentless.
The trio worked with Brian Eno on their debut EP Cut Off! and gained international acclaim with their first European release Before the Applause. Their live résumé includes stages with Depeche Mode, The xx, Gang of Four, and PIL. In their homeland, they sold out the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai with 10,000 attendees—China’s largest rock show in years.
Expect a layered, full-body experience—danceable yet unsettling, experimental yet razor sharp.
