Italian composer returns to LantarenVenster with a deeply personal new album

On Friday 24 October 2025, Italian pianist and composer Federico Albanese returns to LantarenVenster with Blackbirds and The Sun of October. Known for his cinematic, genre-blending sound, Albanese’s music moves effortlessly between classical, electronica and psychedelia—delicate, melancholic, and full of emotional resonance.

His fifth album, composed and recorded in Monferrato, the region where he grew up, reflects themes of homecoming, ancestry and the passage of time. "The autumn in Monferrato has an ancient beauty—this place breathes history," says Albanese.

Expect a concert that captures the rustling leaves of fall, the flicker of candlelight, and the songs of unseen birds, all translated into hauntingly beautiful soundscapes.
