Step into a whirlwind of spinning pirouettes and breakdance battles as classic characters from the Brothers Grimm are brought to life in GRIMM—a wildly imaginative, high-energy performance for all ages. This family-friendly show hits the stage at the Nieuwe Luxor Theater in Rotterdam, proving once again that ballet and hip-hop are a golden match.

In this visually dazzling production, two brothers are pulled into a video game world, encountering a host of beloved characters—Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Rapunzel. With the help of four charming princes, the brothers must stop a wicked witch who seeks power over four magical kingdoms.

The choreography, backed by striking video projections, transforms forest scenes and spring meadows in the blink of an eye, creating an immersive spectacle. Expect gravity-defying head spins, explosive popping-and-locking moves, and lyrical ballet woven together into a performance that delights young and old alike.

Directed by Marco Gerris (ISH Dance Collective) and Ernst Meisner (Dutch National Ballet), GRIMM is a collaborative tour de force that merges street style with classical technique. According to Trouw, it’s “without a doubt the most imaginative dance production of the theatre season.”
