The Best of Tubular Bells I, II & III

The music of Mike Oldfield comes to de Doelen with a live concert devoted to the three Tubular Bells albums. Following a successful anniversary tour, the production returns to Europe with a large ensemble led by Oldfield’s long-time arranger Robin A. Smith.

The programme features Tubular Bells I in full, alongside highlights from Tubular Bells II and Tubular Bells III. The concert also includes Moonlight Shadow, one of Oldfield’s best-known songs.

First released in 1973, Tubular Bells became one of the most influential instrumental albums of its era. Its combination of classical structures, progressive rock, folk and electronic music established a distinctive sound that continued across the later instalments.

This live production brings the layered arrangements and wide range of instruments to the concert hall, celebrating more than five decades of Mike Oldfield’s music.
