Mark Guiliana

World-renowned drummer and composer Mark Guiliana returns to LantarenVenster, this time embarking on a new solo journey inspired by his first fully solo album, MARK (Edition Records), released in July 2024.

Guiliana, a musical innovator from New Jersey, is known for his adventurous spirit and eclectic style. Equally at home in acoustic jazz, boundary-pushing electronic music, and next-level rock, he has collaborated with artists such as St. Vincent, Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam/Soundgarden), Brad Mehldau, M83, and Meshell Ndegeocello. His career took a major turn after his contribution to David Bowie’s final album, Blackstar.

On MARK, Guiliana showcases his full range as a composer, performer, and multi-instrumentalist—layering percussion, piano, and synthesizers into intricate sonic landscapes. This new chapter in his career blends his experiences and influences, pushing his music in a fresh direction. The album follows his widely acclaimed releases The Sound of Listening and Mischief, further cementing his reputation as one of today’s most groundbreaking drummers.
