Efraïm Trujillo IV: Heroes

The great masters of the tenor saxophone are celebrated in Efraïm Trujillo IV's latest album Heroes. Featuring twelve original compositions, the album is a tribute to Trujillo's favorite tenor saxophonists, inspired by legends like Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, and Stan Getz. These pieces showcase the saxophone’s versatility and timeless charm.

Joined by his Ploctones bandmate Jeroen Vierdag on bass, rising talent Sjoerd van Eijck (Mudita) on piano, and Dirk de Nijs (De Raad van Toezicht) on drums, Efraïm Trujillo brings his unique energy and reverence to his idols. As an Edison Award winner and a stalwart in bands like The Ploctones and the New Cool Collective Big Band, Trujillo has a lyrical yet dynamic sound, both robust and uplifting.

The album Heroes, releasing this year via ZenneZ Records, is an ode to the artistry of jazz saxophone. Expect an evening of rich melodies, virtuosic solos, and heartfelt tributes.
