Avishai Darash Quartet

Immerse yourself in the evocative sounds of the Avishai Darash Quartet as they present their latest album, Between Hope and Despair. Pianist and composer Avishai Darash takes inspiration from a rich tapestry of musical traditions, blending North African music, American jazz, Western classical elements, and Middle Eastern folk into a seamless and mesmerising whole. Subtle and sophisticated, Darash's compositions embody the convergence of diverse cultural influences.

In this special performance at LantarenVenster, Darash will be joined by a stellar line-up of musicians, including trumpeter Antonio Moreno Glazkov, bassist Jeroen Vierdag, and drummer Yoran Vroom. Together, they bring to life the intricate layers and emotional depth of his music.

Through Between Hope and Despair, Darash reflects on the turbulent times of our era, exploring themes of resilience, melancholy, and defiance. The compositions are both accessible and adventurous, offering a poignant yet dynamic journey for the listener.
