Alexis Ffrench

British pianist and composer Alexis Ffrench brings his distinctive ‘Classical Soul’ sound to de Doelen, combining contemporary classical piano with influences from soul, gospel and cinematic music.

Ffrench has become one of the most widely heard contemporary classical artists, with more than one billion streams worldwide and several number one albums. His music moves comfortably beyond traditional classical boundaries, favouring direct melodies and emotionally expressive compositions.

His latest project, 24, consists of 24 compositions following the course of a single day, from morning to evening. The album focuses on ordinary moments and the role music can play as a companion, a moment of calm or simply space to reflect. It is due for release in October 2026.

Ffrench is also active in music education and became the first Artistic Director of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in the organisation’s 133-year history.
