Description

The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra performs Giuseppe Verdi’s Messa da Requiem under the direction of Lahav Shani. The work begins and ends almost in a whisper, but between those moments Verdi builds some of the most theatrical music in the sacred repertoire, with the thunderous Dies Irae at its dramatic centre. The performance features soprano Aleksandra Kurzak, mezzo-soprano Annalisa Stroppa, tenor Dmytro Popov and bass Georg Zeppenfeld, joined by Laurens Symfonisch.
