Victoryland

Brooklyn indie rock band Victoryland comes to Rotown with colourful songs that balance melancholy, experimentation and seriously catchy hooks. Built around musicians Julian McCamman and Dan Howard, the band turns themes of alienation, longing and loneliness into music that feels exuberant rather than withdrawn.

Their acclaimed album My Heart Is A Room With No Cameras In It was recorded in McCamman's basement in Bed-Stuy and Howard's Williamsburg studio. Their sound combines the emotional charge of Cold War Kids, the eccentric edge of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and the danceable momentum of LCD Soundsystem. Fans of Modest Mouse and Car Seat Headrest should feel at home here.

Opening the evening is Dutch five-piece Honey I'm Home, featuring musicians previously active in Marathon, Jagd and Banji. The band combines dreamy shoegaze, indie rock and touches of emo, building layered guitar songs that move between intimate melodies and explosive walls of sound. Having already impressed audiences at Left of the Dial and Eurosonic Noorderslag, they bring their own take on 1990s alternative rock to Rotown.
