D.R.I. come to Baroeg with Age Of Panic and Velozza for a night of crossover, thrash and hardcore energy. Alongside bands such as Corrosion Of Conformity and Suicidal Tendencies, D.R.I. helped define the crossover sound in the early 1980s by dragging metal into hardcore and making the two collide at full speed.

The Dirty Rotten Imbeciles have been doing this for decades, with a thrashcore style that remains direct, fast and proudly unpolished. Think hard riffs, punk urgency and the kind of live show where standing still feels like a personal failure. Age Of Panic and Velozza complete the bill, adding more weight to a Tuesday night built for moshing, slamming and probably questioning your knees the next morning.

Baroeg’s new building gives the show a fresh setting, but the spirit is very old-school: loud, sweaty and wonderfully unreasonable.

Description

Baroeg is a legendary subcultural pop venue in Rotterdam, known as the city’s home base for hard and alternative music. Since the early 1980s it has been the go-to spot for metal, punk, hardcore, rock, gothic, industrial, psychobilly and other underground styles. What started as an open youth centre grew into a full pop podium with a loyal community and its own annual festival, Baroeg Open Air. 

The venue sits in the Lombardijen neighbourhood by the Spinozapark and has an intimate club vibe: a compact hall with a low stage, solid sound system and a bar where artists and visitors mingle. For many underground and alternative fans in Rotterdam, Baroeg is less a random venue and more a second living room.
