Jong Metropole & Jeangu Macrooy

Jong Metropole joins forces with Jeangu Macrooy for an afternoon of groove, soul and young orchestral talent at LantarenVenster. Under the direction of conductor Simon Dobson, the orchestra brings a soulful programme that moves from Macrooy’s own songs to virtuosic pieces from the much-loved Metropole repertoire.

Jong Metropole brings together young musicians from Dutch conservatoires and gives them professional experience across classical music, jazz and contemporary styles. The orchestra is an initiative of the National Youth Orchestras of the Netherlands and the Metropole Orkest, making this a meeting point between emerging talent and big-stage ambition.

Jeangu Macrooy adds his warm voice and soulful pop sensibility to the afternoon. The singer broke through with his own albums, club tours and Eurovision Song Contest appearance, and now meets an orchestra known for colour, energy and musical range. With Simon Dobson leading the ensemble, expect a concert full of groove, generous arrangements and bright young musicianship.
