Joyce Moreno: O Mar é Mulher

Joyce Moreno returns to LantarenVenster with O Mar é Mulher, a concert presented together with BIRD. The Brazilian singer, composer and guitarist brings music from her new album of the same name, alongside classics such as Feminina and Água e Luz.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Moreno has built a remarkable career since the late 1960s, blending traditional Brazilian music with jazz, classical influences and her own unmistakable songwriting voice. Her work sits close to the bossa nova tradition, with clear links to figures such as Tom Jobim, Elis Regina and Vinícius de Moraes, yet it has always carried its own independent spirit.

On stage, Moreno’s music is warm, graceful and rhythmically rich. Her songs move between intimacy and elegance, with guitar, voice and subtle arrangements creating a sound that feels deeply Brazilian without being locked in nostalgia.
