Trifonov plays Brahms

Description

Daniil Trifonov returns to Rotterdam for Brahms with the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest under conductor Lahav Shani. The concert brings together Schönberg’s Verklärte Nacht and Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto, with Trifonov as soloist.

The performance has a little Rotterdam Philharmonic history behind it. Shani recalls Trifonov’s earlier Brahms performance with the orchestra during the Covid period, when only a small audience could experience it live. This return gives a wider audience the chance to hear the pianist in one of the great Romantic piano concertos.
