Jubilee concert with Lorenzo Gatto & Karavan Ensemble
Description
Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons is taken on a new journey at de Doelen, as violinist Lorenzo Gatto joins Karavan Ensemble for a reimagined version of the famous work. The concert forms part of the 60th anniversary of de Doelen and presents Vivaldi’s familiar melodies as fragments waiting to be reshaped by new musical encounters.
The programme carries the subtitle Open Road, with the ensemble exploring connections between classical Venice, African rhythms and Middle Eastern influences. A key inspiration is the encounter with Kaito Winse, whose voice and tama, also known as the talking drum, bring a different rhythmic pulse to the project.
