Description
The Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest marks 60 years of de Doelen with Bruckner’s monumental Fifth Symphony and a new work by Thomas van Dun. The concert connects Rotterdam’s post-war cultural landmark with music on a grand scale, turning the Grote Zaal into part of the experience.
Alongside Bruckner’s vast symphonic architecture, the evening includes Van Dun’s world premiere L’Appel du Vide. Scenographer Frouke ten Velden adds projections, light, smoke and colour, giving the concert a visual dimension that surrounds the music rather than simply accompanying it.
