Vibraphonist Joel Ross brings his ensemble Good Vibes to Rotterdam to celebrate his Blue Note album Gospel Music. The record draws on the spiritual and communal traditions of Chicago’s Black church and explores ideas of service, renewal and shared purpose through layered harmonies and collective improvisation. Ross is joined by pianist Jeremy Corren, bassist Kanoa Mendenhall and drummer Jeremy Dutton, with saxophonists Maria Grand and Josh Johnson, creating music that is technically intricate yet emotionally direct. A sought‑after musician known for his rhythmic refinement and lyrical clarity, Ross reimagines gospel through contemporary jazz in De Doelen’s Jurriaanse Zaal.
