Trumpeter and composer Milena Casado comes to Rotterdam with Reflection of Another Self, the debut album she released with her regular quintet. At de Doelen’s Eduard Flipse Zaal, expect a set that moves comfortably between acoustic jazz tradition and electronic colour, leaving room for fluid improvisation and a more searching, personal edge. De Doelen notes that Casado is increasingly being named as a standout new voice in contemporary jazz, with appearances on major stages and festivals, as well as collaborations with artists including Terri Lyne Carrington, Vijay Iyer, Aaron Parks and Kris Davis.
