Description

The Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest brings a winter programme to de Doelen in central Rotterdam that puts warmth and melody front and centre. Star cellist Truls Mørk takes on Dvořák’s glowing Cello Concerto, framed by Schubert’s Symphony No. 8, the “Unfinished”, and Kodály’s folk-rooted Dances of Galánta. The evening also opens with Dvořák’s Slavonic Dance (Op. 72 No. 1), a bright curtain-raiser before the bigger emotional swing of the concerto. Expect a full symphonic line-up, with conductor Giedrė Šlekytė on the podium in the Grote Zaal at de Doelen.
