Koyaman + NEFLELI

Greek trio Koyaman brings a late-night dose of psychedelic Mediterranean grooves to Grounds in Rotterdam, with NEFLELI opening the evening. The band takes traditional material from Greece and the wider Eastern Mediterranean and runs it through a live set-up of amplified strings, percussion and electronics, shifting from hypnotic, slowly building sections to sharp, dancefloor-ready peaks. Their shows are known for humour, improvisation and a direct connection with the crowd, which tends to end up on the dancefloor rather than in their seats.

Support act NEFLELI works in a more experimental pop corner, threading electronic beats together with melodic fragments and references to different eras of Greek music. Her live trio uses manipulated vocals, synths and samples, moving between whispered lines, spoken-word passages and rap-like delivery. The songs, taken from an upcoming album, explore nocturnal thoughts and restless energy, set to melancholic but highly danceable rhythms. Together, Koyaman and NEFLELI turn the Sunday night at Grounds into a compact showcase of contemporary Greek alternative music.
