Judith Hill

Powerhouse singer and guitarist Judith Hill began her career as a backing vocalist for icons like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Elton John, later becoming a collaborator of Prince. Her remarkable story was featured in the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Feet From Stardom (2013), which earned her a Grammy Award. Following a sold-out show in 2024, Hill now returns to LantarenVenster with another night of electrifying soul.

In 2009, Hill was selected as Michael Jackson’s duet partner for the This Is It tour. After his passing, she was invited by Prince to his studio, where they developed both a creative and personal connection. Prince went on to produce her debut album Back In Time (2015) — a fiery mix of funk and soul.

When intense media attention and online hate struck in 2016, Hill channelled her emotions into the powerful and deeply personal Letters From A Black Widow.

Today, Judith Hill takes centre stage with confidence and fire. Joined by her parents — Peewee Hill on bass and Michiko Hill on keyboards — she delivers an energetic live show that blends funk, soul, R&B, hip-hop, gospel, and jazz into one unforgettable experience.
