Silje Nergaard – Tomorrow We’ll Figure Out The Rest

Norwegian jazz-pop icon returns with a soulful new album

Thirty years ago, Silje Nergaard’s career began with an impromptu jam session alongside Jaco Pastorius’s band — she was just sixteen at the time. Since then, the Norwegian singer has carved out a distinctive sound that bridges pop, jazz and soul. Her breakthrough album At First Light (2001) made her an international name.

Now Nergaard returns to her roots with Tomorrow We’ll Figure Out The Rest — a collection of melodic songs inspired by classic jazz standards, exploring themes of love and longing. “You can hear the pop music my parents played at home,” says Silje. “That mix of melodies became part of my DNA, and it shaped how I started writing my own songs.”

The album was recorded with her long-time Norwegian trio — pianist Espen Berg, bassist Finn Guttormsen, and drummer Jarle Vespestad — joined by the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and Grammy-winning arranger Vince Mendoza. Expect a mix of new compositions and beloved favourites like Be Still My Heart, The Waltz, Japanese Blue and Tell Me Where You’re Going.
