The members of Splendid have been spreading musical sunshine across the Netherlands for more than two decades. With their infectious blend of pop, reggae and hip-hop, the band has earned a cherished place in the Dutch music scene — and a reputation for shows where standing still is simply impossible. Festival favourites from Lowlands and Paaspop to Sziget and Fusion Berlin, Splendid always bring a rush of energy and warmth wherever they go.

Their ninth album, Karate, is presented as the world’s first flow state album — not about perfection, but about capturing inspiration in its purest form. “Karate is about flow, discipline and letting go,” says frontman Pat Smith. “It’s a new approach to musical challenges: fluid, powerful and sincere. Music doesn’t have to be a finished product — it can be a living process.”
