Cantorias

Brazilian rhythms, warm harmonies and blending voices: Cantorias transports listeners to distant places and forgotten times. The ensemble features four remarkable vocalists: Lilian Vieira (Zuco 103), Anna Serierse (Kika Sprangers), Femke Smit (Mike del Ferro) and Nina Rompa (Kobra Ensemble). Together, they bring close harmony rooted in Brazil.

Their repertoire combines traditional protest songs and classic sambas with original material infused with a nostalgic 70s and 80s flair, presented in a fresh and contemporary style. The name ‘Cantoria’ means ‘singing together’, and Cantorias embodies this spirit of joyful celebration where voices unite in music.

The singers are supported by a stellar band deeply versed in Brazilian traditions such as samba, bossa nova and música popular brasileira. In 2024, Cantorias received the Edison Award in the National Vocal category, cementing their reputation as one of the finest vocal groups in the Netherlands.
