Robin Kester thrives in moments of quiet unrest. Known for layered production and subtle instrumentation, her music captures themes of loss and alienation in melancholic, dreamlike soundscapes. Minimalist lyrics are wrapped in rich arrangements where Wurlitzer, brass, strings, harpsichord, synths, and gritty guitars merge seamlessly—drawing on influences from Air, Portishead, and late-era Talk Talk.

Her debut Honeycomb Shades (2023) was praised by NRC and de Volkskrant as one of the best Dutch albums of the year and earned a 3voor12 Award nomination. On 12 September, she released follow-up Dark Sky Reserve on UK label Memphis Industries—her most layered and daring work to date, introduced with the enchanting single Departure.
