Lucy Woodward & New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra

The adventurous New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra joins forces with vocalist Lucy Woodward for the first edition of The Rocketeers. Presented at LantarenVenster, this collaboration highlights projects developed within the venue’s walls, blending rich orchestration with Woodward’s powerful stage presence. Expect an evening of dazzling arrangements and songs that shift between the familiar and the unexpected.

Lucy Woodward, born in London and raised in both the Netherlands and New York, has built a career spanning solo albums, pop hits, and collaborations with acts like Snarky Puppy and Postmodern Jukebox. Together with the NRJO, led by trombonist Louk Boudesteijn, she presents material from Lucy Woodward & The Rocketeers, released on GroundUP Music, alongside bold new interpretations of jazz standards.

Woodward’s career has seen her work with Quincy Jones Orchestra, Michael Bublé, and Gregory Porter, as well as appearances at major venues including Royal Albert Hall. With her expressive voice and magnetic stage presence, she now steps into a new chapter with this large ensemble project.
