British jazz singer Emma Smith steps into the spotlight with her new project Bitter Orange. Before her solo breakthrough, Smith performed on some of London’s most prestigious stages, from Ronnie Scott’s to the Royal Albert Hall, and toured worldwide with Postmodern Jukebox. Known for her powerful, versatile voice and commanding stage presence, she blends classic jazz repertoire with fresh interpretations, often shifting traditionally male perspectives into her own.

Named Parliamentary Jazz Vocalist of the Year in 2024, Smith has been hailed as one of the most exciting contemporary voices in jazz. Her latest album Bitter Orange, released on Brooklyn label La Reserve Records in 2025, showcases her as a modern, eclectic jazz artist with international reach.
