Since taking up his post in 2018, chief conductor Lahav Shani has built a celebrated Bruckner cycle with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, hailed by Gramophone as “superb.” This season, the journey continues with the composer’s Fourth Symphony, a work that conjures a sonic universe of horn calls, birdsong and sweeping natural landscapes. Alongside it comes the Te Deum, Bruckner’s radiant hymn of praise, in which the devout composer honoured the divine as the true creator.

The performance at de Doelen features the Laurens Symfonisch Koor and soloists Elza van den Heever (soprano), Gerhild Romberger (alto), Daniel Behle (tenor) and Kostas Smoriginas (bass-baritone), under Shani’s direction. It promises to be both an awe-inspiring symphonic journey and a moving spiritual tribute.
