Annelies Monseré & Goldscammer + De Vlaamse Primitieven

An evening at de Doelen brings together two distinct voices from Belgium’s experimental music scene. Annelies Monseré, active for more than two decades, is known for her melancholic yet elegant blend of folk influences, minimalism and DIY experimentation. With piano, voice and layers of acoustic and electronic textures, her work balances intimacy and complexity. Following the release of her acclaimed 2023 album Mares, she teamed up with Goldscammer, whose sparse compositions opened fresh directions in lyricism and arrangement.

Sharing the bill are De Vlaamse Primitieven, the Antwerp guitar duo Jan Boudart and Freek Vreys. Drawing inspiration from ’60s psychedelia, drones and the “American primitive” guitar tradition of John Fahey and Robbie Basho, they weave intricate instrumentals that nod to British folk, jazz and beyond. Their debut album Lucht van een Andere Planeet, released earlier in 2025, showcased a sound that is both steeped in tradition and surprisingly accessible.
