Mark Hummel’s Blues Survivors

American bluesman Mark Hummel brings his long-running outfit The Blues Survivors to Rotterdam, promising a night steeped in the traditions of Muddy Waters, Little Walter and Sonny Boy Williamson. Since founding the band in 1985, Hummel has toured the world relentlessly, earning a reputation for his authentic harmonica-driven sound that draws from West Coast, Chicago and Delta blues. With more than a dozen albums to his name, including the award-winning Remembering Little Walter, Hummel is recognised as a master of the craft.

This line-up of The Blues Survivors features guitarist Anson Funderburgh, one of the most influential blues players of his generation, whose Texas blues style perfectly complements Hummel’s vocals and harmonica. Together with Bill Stuve on bass and Wes Starr on drums, the band delivers a powerful homage to the rich history of the blues.
