Description
For four decades, Jon Spencer has been reshaping rock’n’roll into something raw, mutated and unrelenting. Since the mid-1980s, he has stood as a driving force in the independent music scene, fronting bands such as Pussy Galore, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Heavy Trash and Jon Spencer & The HITmakers. Now teaming up with the rhythm section of The Bobby Lees—familiar to Rotterdam audiences from their appearance at Left of the Dial—Spencer is back to deliver another sonic onslaught.
His latest release Sick Of Being Sick! (2024) takes aim at the turbulence of modern times with a sharper, more politically charged anger. Where Pussy Galore channelled youthful chaos, Spencer’s fury now carries protest and purpose, even firing shots at Trump 2.0 in his latest single Come On!. Expect a night of rock’n’roll at Rotown that is raw, urgent and impossible to ignore.
