Dreamlike introspection at the intersection of identity and emotion

NoSo, the project of singer-songwriter-producer Baek Hwong (they/he), brings tender yet vivid reflections on identity, love, and mental health to Rotown. With spatial arrangements enriched by saxophone and strings, their sound evokes dream sequences from a forgotten 80s ballroom. The music explores the tension of growing up, at the crossroads of heritage, gender and belonging—delivered with disarming vulnerability and a poetic eye for emotional nuance.

Their second album When Are You Leaving? replaces yearning with reckoning, posing the question: what happens when you finally receive what you’ve always wanted, only to face new uncertainties? The result is a record steeped in emotional honesty, balancing clarity with softness, and appealing across genre, age, or orientation.
