A timeless voice of Brazil returns to Rotterdam

Brazilian singer, songwriter and guitarist João Bosco returns to LantarenVenster for an intimate evening with bassist Guto Wirtti. With a career spanning over fifty years, Bosco is celebrated for songs that blend poetic lyricism with subtle political commentary—especially during Brazil’s military dictatorship. His legacy includes a renowned partnership with lyricist Aldir Blanc, and his most recent album, Boca Cheia de Frutas, was released in 2024.

Despite a generational gap, Bosco and Wirtti share a strong musical bond. Wirtti has long been part of the João Bosco Quartet and brings his distinctive, nuanced style to this duo performance. Audiences can expect a mix of classic repertoire and newer compositions, all enriched by Wirtti’s elegant, inventive bass playing.
