Fasten Up Tour returns to LantarenVenster

After two (!) sold-out shows last year, Yellowjackets return to LantarenVenster with new material from their latest album Fasten Up. Expect a blend of acoustic jazz fusion with electrifying elements, a style the band perfected with albums like Mirage A Trois (1983), Samurai Samba (1985), and Four Corners (1987).

Throughout their evolution, the Yellowjackets have embraced change, welcoming new members like Marc Russo, William Kennedy, Marcus Baylor, Bob Mintzer, Peter Erskine, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Felix Pastorius. Despite these shifts, their sound has remained fresh, spanning jazz, funk, R&B, pop, and world music.

With drummer William Kennedy and saxophonist-arranger Bob Mintzer at the helm, the band has explored everything from world beats to straight-ahead acoustic jazz. Their latest album, Fasten Up, reflects a renewed energy, drawing inspiration from both past innovation and current creativity. As bassist Dane Alderson puts it:
"I like to think that my compositions reflect all the music that influences me. Heavy metal, electronica, ambient, R&B, rock & pop are some of my favorite genres (just to name a few!) and combining those styles with elements of jazz and improvisation is really exciting to me."
