Orgel Vreten

Dutch band Orgel Vreten brings two vintage Hammond organs to Rotown for an explosive mix of rock, funk, psychedelia and space rock.

What began in 2012 as a one-off organ battle between Thijs Schrijnemakers and Darius Timmer has grown into a five-piece band with a sound built around the Hammond organ. Backed by bass, drums and the unexpected addition of a sousaphone, the two keyboard players challenge each other through driving riffs, wild solos and extended grooves. The result moves between psychedelic rock, deep funk and moments of outright musical chaos.

With their 2026 album SAHARA, Orgel Vreten continues exploring the possibilities of its unusual instrumental line-up. The Rotterdam concert promises a loud, energetic performance in which improvisation and the chemistry between the musicians are central. Expect something considerably more adventurous than a conventional organ concert.
