.Multibeat album release at V11

Description

Rotterdam trio .Multibeat brings its blend of jazz and hip-hop to V11 for the release of new album OOO.

Boudewijn Pleij, Thijs van Zutphen and Aron Smit build their sound around live interplay, heavy grooves and a loose approach to improvisation. Their music draws on the freedom of Robert Glasper, the swing of J Dilla and the rougher edges of the current UK jazz scene, while keeping a distinctly Rotterdam character.

The trio has previously worked with artists including Pete Philly and Joya Mooi and has released music through projects such as Toolbox and Channel Island. With OOO, their first release on Sonar Kollektiv, .Multibeat pushes further into a rawer and more live-focused sound.
