Halloween Madness: Ritual + Astro Zombies A.D.

Description

Halloween at Baroeg comes with a double dose of tribute mayhem as Ritual celebrates Ghost and Astro Zombies A.D. dives into the early Misfits catalogue.

Ritual: The Dutch Ghost Experience recreates the atmosphere of Ghost’s earlier years, complete with the theatrical setting and dark rock sound that first built the Swedish band’s cult following. The set reaches across Ghost’s catalogue, including later crowd favourites such as Square Hammer and Satanized.

Astro Zombies A.D. turns to the first Glenn Danzig era of the Misfits. Fronted by Michiel Walrave, known from The Real Danger and The Shivvies, the group performs a set packed with classic horror punk. This Rotterdam show is also one of the final opportunities to see the band before its farewell performance at Helldorado in November.

Description

Baroeg is a legendary subcultural pop venue in Rotterdam, known as the city’s home base for hard and alternative music. Since the early 1980s it has been the go-to spot for metal, punk, hardcore, rock, gothic, industrial, psychobilly and other underground styles. What started as an open youth centre grew into a full pop podium with a loyal community and its own annual festival, Baroeg Open Air.

The venue sits in the Lombardijen neighbourhood by the Spinozapark and has an intimate club vibe: a compact hall with a low stage, solid sound system and a bar where artists and visitors mingle. For many underground and alternative fans in Rotterdam, Baroeg is less a random venue and more a second living room.
