Wende

Description

Dutch singer and performer Wende comes to Maassilo with new music from her upcoming album Er Is Nog Tijd.

For more than two decades, Wende has moved freely between pop, electronic music, chanson and theatre. Her work is tied together by a strong voice and a storytelling style that gives equal weight to lyrics, atmosphere and performance. Albums and productions such as MENS, Sterrenlopen and Vrijplaats have repeatedly pushed her music into new territory.

On Er Is Nog Tijd, Wende turns towards a more direct pop sound while keeping the narrative strength of chanson at its core. The new songs explore longing, intimacy and growing older, bringing those themes into a larger live setting at Maassilo.

Description

The Maassilo, located in Rotterdam’s bustling Maashaven area, is one of the city’s most distinctive and dynamic venues. Originally built in 1910 as a grain silo, the venue's industrial heritage is immediately apparent in its raw, concrete aesthetic. This historical site has been transformed into a vibrant cultural hub that plays host to a wide range of events, from concerts and club nights to corporate functions and private gatherings.
