Hallo Venray: 35 years of The More I Laugh, The Hornier Due Gets

Dutch alternative rock veterans Hallo Venray celebrate two milestones at Rotown: 40 years as a band and the 35th anniversary of their cult album The More I Laugh, The Hornier Due Gets.

The Hague band will play two sets during the evening. The first is devoted entirely to The More I Laugh, The Hornier Due Gets, while the second travels through four decades of Hallo Venray, combining older favourites with more recent material.

Since forming in the 1980s, Hallo Venray has become a fixture of Dutch alternative guitar music, with a sound that moves between indie rock, jangle rock and more atmospheric, sometimes psychedelic territory. The band has released 15 albums and remains known for an idiosyncratic live approach that mixes musicianship with plenty of humour.

Listeners of Bettie Serveert, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, The Velvet Underground and The Replacements should feel right at home.
