Description
DoelenEnsemble presents three intimate musical experiences at Buitenplaats Rozenlust and a salt crystal chamber on Westzeedijk. HortusConcerts combines contemporary chamber music, early jazz, a world premiere, visual art, storytelling and meditative sound.
Resonance in Salt
Two percussionists create a meditative sound bath with singing bowls inside a salt crystal chamber. Visitors can experience the concert while seated or reclining as the mineral walls amplify the instruments’ harmonic overtones.

From Creation of the World to World Premiere
Darius Milhaud’s La création du monde brings classical music and early jazz together. The second half features the world premiere of a new work by Rotterdam composer Hans Koolmees, written for double bass, string quartet, saxophone and piano.

Mondrian’s Prophetic Sound
Storyteller Vincent Bijlo explores Piet Mondrian’s ideas about art, music and the future of electronic sound. Visual art, narration and contemporary chamber music come together in a performance inspired by Mondrian’s life and artistic philosophy.

Buitenplaats Rozenlust is an event venue on Parklaan in Rotterdam’s Scheepvaartkwartier, close to Het Park and the Euromast. Its green surroundings and intimate interior make it suitable for concerts, cultural programmes, presentations and private gatherings. The venue combines a quiet setting with a central location that is accessible from Rotterdam city centre.
