ROTTERDAM, 29 March 2022 – On 24 May, Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo is set to open a new branch at Wijnhaven 73 Z in Rotterdam, marking the eleventh Jumbo location in the city.
Jumbo is a family-owned business with a rich entrepreneurial history dating back to 1921. Now the second-largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands, Jumbo serves over 10 million customers annually across more than 700 stores and via its online platform.
Branch manager Bart Schop is proud of the new store and eagerly anticipates its opening: “Our store team is fully prepared to provide residents of the Rotterdam Wijnhaven area with an enjoyable shopping experience. They will soon have ample choice from the varied assortment in the new store,” he said enthusiastically.

HEMA products
In addition to Jumbo's offerings, customers can also shop a selection of HEMA products in the new store, making shopping more enjoyable and convenient. Items available will include HEMA cookware, tableware, tights and socks, hair accessories, stationery, tea towels, glasses, party items, and candles. HEMA non-food items will also be available on Jumbo.com.
