ROTTERDAM, 8 November 2023 — After more than 75 years of operations predominantly in Amsterdam and at Schiphol Airport, GASSAN, one of the Netherlands' oldest diamond merchants, has expanded its reach to Rotterdam.

The new store, located on Meent in Rotterdam, officially opens its doors on 10 November 2023. This move is part of GASSAN's strategic shift developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, aimed at focusing more on the local Dutch market.

Benno Leeser, President-Director of GASSAN, commented on the expansion, “The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated our existing plans to open branches outside Amsterdam and Schiphol. This initiative is a response to the decreased tourism during the pandemic and our desire to cater more to the local market.”

A new chapter in Rotterdam

The opening of the Rotterdam store is a long-held dream for Leeser, a fervent supporter of the city and its football team, Feyenoord. He expressed his delight in establishing a multi-brand store in such a high-end location. The store, which had a soft opening months ago, is now fully ready to serve customers with its polished interiors.

The store notably becomes an official retailer of the renowned watch brand Rolex. It will feature a goldsmith and a watchmaker on-site and will offer custom jewellery design services.
