A Fine Mess

A Fine Mess comes to Oude Luxor with a knock-out action comedy full of spectacular humour, chaos and physical theatre. In a remote desert town, a young woman, her brother and their ill mother are struggling to stay afloat. Bills pile up, debt collectors close in and desperation slowly takes over.

Their solution? A petrol station robbery. Naturally, that small grab from the till quickly spirals into a chain reaction of absurd situations. Add a corrupt sheriff, clumsy police officers and a mysterious cowboy with a guitar, and the whole thing starts to sound beautifully unhinged. 

After the success of Knock-Out in 2021, Jakob Ahlbom Company, ISH Dance Collective and DeLaMar Theater join forces again for an explosive mix of music, slapstick, special effects and action-comedy madness. For A Fine Mess, Jakob Ahlbom and Marco Gerris draw inspiration from Quentin Tarantino, the Coen Brothers and 1980s action classics such as Lethal Weapon and Die Hard.
