De Kift brings De Eenzame to LantarenVenster

Dutch band De Kift comes to LantarenVenster with De Eenzame, a musical theatre performance filled with melancholy, euphoria and delightful disruption. Expect film images, drawings, familiar figures from the band’s own universe, new characters and music from an album set to appear in 2027.

The story follows a lonely figure drifting at the edge of a city, where dust has long been disturbed only by raindrops. Sometimes he sees a street in the distance that seems to lead towards the promise of the sea, but the closer he gets, the further the sea appears to fade away.

After nearly forty years, De Kift remains one of the Netherlands’ most distinctive bands. The group from the Zaan region mixes punk, brass, pop and theatre into something that can feel tender one moment and gloriously unruly the next. With De Eenzame, they return with a show that seems built for listeners who like their music with a bit of poetry, a bit of chaos and a beating theatrical heart.

De Kift’s line-up includes Ferry Heijne on trumpet, trombone, guitar and vocals, Wim ter Weele on drums, Mathijs Houwink on bass guitar, Pim Heijne on guitar, ukulele, hakkebord and banjo, Patrick Votrian on trombone, bass tuba and baritone, Roos Janssens on baritone sax, alto sax, ukulele and vocals, and Marco Heijne on percussion and vocals.
