Dutch post-jazz explorers shake the decks at V11

On Friday 13 June 2025, V11 plays host to the Rotterdam quintet Shoom, one of the most explosive instrumental bands to hit the scene in recent years. Named after the Ukrainian word for “noise”, Shoom deliver a ferocious collision of windmill-post-punk and big band jazz—think Black Country, New Road with no vocals but maximum chaos.

With jagged guitars, piercing sax solos and whip-smart rhythms, their music draws from every corner of the sonic map—from MF DOOM to Coltrane, from Black Midi to Talking Heads. After house shows, Popronde, and Eurosonic, Shoom is now riding the momentum of their debut tour across the UK.

Support comes from Ruda Krua, a cross-cultural band bending punk, jazz and afrobeat into danceable psychedelic waves of spiritual noise.
