The Phantom of the Opera (Dutch)

Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera comes to Nieuwe Luxor for an exclusive Rotterdam run in spring 2028, bringing one of the world's best-known musicals back to the Netherlands after almost 35 years.

Based on Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel, the story follows young soprano Christine Daaé, whose extraordinary voice attracts the attention of a mysterious musical genius living beneath the Paris Opera House. Known only as the Phantom, he becomes her mentor and falls in love with her, but Christine's reunion with childhood sweetheart Raoul sets a dramatic love triangle in motion.

Since its premiere in 1986, The Phantom of the Opera has been seen by around 160 million people in 217 cities and 52 countries. Andrew Lloyd Webber's score includes The Music of the Night, All I Ask of You, Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, Masquerade and the famous title song.

The Rotterdam production is performed entirely in Dutch and runs for approximately two hours and 30 minutes, including an interval. The recommended minimum age is eight.
