Benediction + Pentacle + Nightbearer

British death metal veterans Benediction come to Baroeg for an afternoon of old-school death metal, joined by Dutch band Pentacle and Germany’s Nightbearer.

Formed in Birmingham in the late 1980s, Benediction became one of the defining names of the British death metal scene with their debut Subconscious Terror. Their sound combines crushing riffs, groove and the raw character of early death metal. The band released its ninth album in 2025, the final record featuring longtime vocalist Dave Ingram before he stepped down because of arthritis.

Pentacle adds a strong Dutch connection to the bill. Active since 1989, the band is one of the veterans of the Netherlands’ death metal underground and has announced that it will stop performing live after 2027. Their approach remains firmly rooted in old-school death metal.

Opening the bill is Nightbearer from Germany, whose music draws heavily on classic Swedish death metal, complete with HM-2 guitar tones and melodic lead work.
