VanWyck

Singer-songwriter VanWyck comes to LantarenVenster for an intimate seated concert built around guitar, piano and two voices.

VanWyck, the stage name of Christien Oele, moves between Americana, folk, rock and indie, with a sound centred on her warm voice and reflective songwriting. Her music can shift from delicate and restrained to dark and powerful, while keeping the lyrics firmly at the centre.

For this Rotterdam show, she performs as a duo with keyboard player and singer Henk Hulzebosch. The concert explores the idea of ‘thin places’, rare moments when the boundary between everyday life and something deeper seems to briefly disappear. Songs including Listen To You Breathe, Your Favorite Tune and the new duet To June This Morning form part of the programme.

The stripped-back setting brings VanWyck’s music down to its essentials, with guitar, piano and close vocal harmonies.
